6 things we learned about new 'Call of Duty' multiplayer

The first thing most fans of Activision first-person shooter Call of Duty ask when a new version of the game is announced is what's new with the franchise's very popular multiplayer mode.
On Monday, developers Sledgehammer Games revealed the first details on multiplayer mode forCall of Duty: Advanced Warfare, which launches this November.
Here are six things we learned from the big reveal:
1. The exoskeleton speeds up the action. Call of Duty has always been among the faster-paced shooters on the market. Developers ramp that up a notch with the inclusion of an exoskeleton, introduced through a variety of campaign-related announcements. Players will jump higher and run faster. There's also boost jumps, dodges and slides to evade attacks, while a boost slam lets players pound enemies from the air. With the new aerial abilities, get ready for maps with more "verticality," a term used often during Activision's reveal event.
Players can add perks to improve their suit, such as suppress thrusters to limit their visibility and overcharge to house more energy. Other abilities add the option of hovering over the battlefield or cloaking for covert movement.
2. Scorestreaks are back. Instead of notching consecutive kills to earn rewards from UAVs to missile strikes, Advanced Warfare brings back the Scorestreak. Players rack up as many points as possible by killing enemies or capturing key points before getting killed. The higher the point total, the greater the reward. Plus, players can customize their own scorestreaks.
3. Pick 10 becomes Pick 13. The "Pick 10" system, introduced in Black Ops II in 2012, gave players 10 points to customize their weapon and gear loadouts to their choosing. That number gets bumped up to 13, giving players the choice to add scorestreaks and special abilities for their exoskeleton, along with weapon enhancements, Wildcards and other items.
4. Get ready for Supply Drops. Along with experience points, players can also earn Supply Drops, which net players bonus rewards such as additional gear and weapons. Items break down into three classes based on rarity: Enlisted, Professional and Elite.
5. Uplink among new modes. Uplink is an interesting mix between a capture the flag style match and Oddball from the Halo series. Players toss around a small orb, but whoever carries it can't use their weapons. A clip from a Uplink match showed a player tossing the orb to an opponent, then shooting them. Players score points by tossing the orb into a giant glowing sphere. Along with Uplink, Advanced Warfare will bring back modes Search and Destroy, Capture the Flag and Hardpoint.
6. Test new weapons with virtual firing range. This is great if you want to check out an unfamiliar weapon. Between matches, players can jump into a firing range to test out their gear before using it on the battlefield. It should work great for testing attachments, too.
